The Visitor Control position will provide visitor control services for AFRL/RCM in Building 676 including working with Government facility managers or civil engineering staff members, IT/HPC system integrators, and other agencies delivering, installing, operating, repairing, or removing IT/HPC equipment from AFRL/RCM’s facilities. This position will maintain awareness to avoid security incidents resulting from the quality of contractor services performed under this paragraph and the following sub-paragraphs. There are some safety tasks that are associated with maintaining an environment for proper HPC operations. It is important that contractor staff are familiar with key IT facility operations. This position will also perform the tasks outlined in the following sub-paragraphs for Building 676 and, on an occasional basis at COR direction in Building 802.

Additional Responsibilities Include, but are not Limited To:

  • Operate the visitor staging area during the core business hours. This includes acting as the initial customer contact for the facility, verifying the need to enter the facility, issuing building access badges to Government and contractor personnel, notifying staff members of visitors or deliveries, updating the building’s telephone number data base, and maintaining logs of building access and parcel deliveries.
  • Receive and distribute all inbound official mail and packages as well as dispatch all outbound mail and parcels.
  • Operate and provide system support to the facility badge system as well as issue permanent and temporary visitor building badges.
  • Unlock and open the building and conference rooms no later than 0800 hours local time Monday through Friday and secure conference rooms and the facility no later than 1700 hours.
  • Use the equipment provided in the visitor staging area by the base communications-computer staff (C-CSO) officer to assist Government and contractor personnel with resetting their Common Access Card (CAC) Personal Identification Number (PIN) as needed. The contractor will not be issuing CACs.
  • When visitors arrive at Building 676’s staging area to use the Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) café, will direct them to the appropriate C-CSO staff office co-located in the facility, place them in telephone contact with that agency and, when needed, provide the appropriately authorized visitor badge.
  • Fingerprint newly hired AFRL personnel for security clearances using the infrared fingerprinting machine installed within AFRL/RCM. Will also oversee the scheduling of fingerprinting as well as provide for local machine maintenance through the Functional System Administrators on this task order.
  • Assist with proposal development, if necessary.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
