Position Overview:

The .Net, SQL Programmer is responsible for writing reports, modifying our Viewpoint software and developing requested software changes. This position would ideally be based out of our Corporate Office in New Hampton, IA; however, we would consider allowing a programmer to work remotely on a limited basis. The ideal candidate will have a high level of initiative, be very meticulous, have established experience and be able to interface well with a variety of people. The .Net, SQL Programmer is full time position with no supervisory responsibility. This position reports to the Human Resources Director.

General Duties and Functions:

  • Be aware of and familiar with the Company Handbook and abide by all employment policies
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management
  • Additional duties as assigned by management, as this job description is non-exhaustive
  • Willingness to perform duties outside normal scope of work (i.e. work outside normal hours)

Essential Duties and Functions:

  • Work with in house software using SQL programming which includes changes to stored procedures, view, and triggers and be able to merge changes when updates occur
  • Support existing applications written in VB.Net and C#
  • Design and develop application reports using Crystal Reports
  • Work with network administrator and IT Department to support company security
  • Troubleshoot software errors and work with Viewpoint Construction Software to resolve (when necessary)
  • Provide recommendations to management concerning issues with programming or software
  • Work with management team to prioritize requests and provide consistent progress updates
  • Cross-train with applicable positions to better understand programming request

Position Requirements:

  • Consent to authorization of a pre-employment background check
  • Must be able to pass a drug test
  • BSCS or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Understanding of construction industry
  • SQL Administration
  • Experience in working with Viewpoint Construction software
  • Ability to design and develop different interfaces or dashboards
