We are Hiring a Service Sales Representative for our Tiffin, OH (JB Roofing) location.

What does Service Sales do?

The Service Sales Representative is responsible for business development of our preventive maintenance service contract product.  You will sell to new and existing clients and schedule sales appointments via self-generated leads.  

In your role, you will work in a business-to-business setting in which you will cover an assigned territory and build a portfolio of accounts via prospecting and referrals.

Due to the nature of the services we offer, you will very rarely make one-call closes. In most cases, you will build client relationships over the course of a sales cycle that may last up to 18 months and require multiple sales calls. 

What are the Specific Functions of a Service Sales Representative?

  • You will Prospect via cold calls, emails, door-to-door calls, networking and referrals and follow-up on direct mail campaigns.
  • You set sales appointments with key decision makers at prospective client companies and establish rapport and develop long-term business relationships with clients over the course of an extended sales cycle.
  • You have to partner with clients to establish their needs and present clients with the most appropriate solutions assemble proposals and reports for clients.
  • You will submit all contacts and documentation in a timely manner and maintain all sales activity in the Tecta CRM program.
  • You have to follow up with clients on a periodic basis to ensure that their expectations are being met and to get referrals.
  • You must work with Service Manager to understand where/how to generate additional leads and referrals and develop sales strategies and, when necessary, to close deals.
  • You manage the service projects won through your efforts and perform other related tasks as may be assigned.

What Knowledge, Skills & Experience do You Need?

  • Demonstrated success in sales, a strong record of achievement and a proven ability to achieve results. 
  • Ability to apply negotiation skills to a variety of sales situations.
  • 3 – 5 years sales experience in roofing, construction or a related field
  • Ability to manage/qualify leads and close business through direct contact or over the phone.
  • Excellent track record in developing relationships with a high degree of integrity and trust.
  • Solid project management skills
  • Solid verbal, written, interpersonal and listening skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including SharePoint and CRM.
  • Ability to climb ladders and walk/inspect roofs.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel locally out of the office 80% of the time.

What Knowledge, Skills & Experience would be great, but is not required?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Construction, Marketing or Management or equivalent combination of education, experience and training
  • Proven track record of client retention.
  • Strong commercial roofing experience.
  • Professional sales training methodology, such as Sandler.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles
