ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position may include:

  • Groundwater geochemical evaluation using industry standard software such as PHREEQC or Geochemist’s Workbench;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; 
  • Fieldwork such as soil and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, construction quality assurance and oversight, and remediation system O&M;
  • Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation; and 
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

Here are some other things you should know about this position:

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 30%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 10%

EDUCATION AND LICENSUREB

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology or related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in environmental science, geology or related field. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior related field experience, including observation of drilling and well installation, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and other field techniques, or equivalent combination of education and experience. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to environmental remediation. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (valuable)
  • Technical experience in geochemistry, geology, environmental, or related disciplines. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of geochemical modeling software. (required);
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and related software; AutoCAD and/or GIS. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
