QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, chemistry, production or industrial management. MBA in operations management strongly preferred.
  • Training or background in Lean Six Sigma strongly preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years of prior leadership experience.
  • This position also requires a thorough knowledge of manufacturing operations and safety / environmental procedures, preferably in a chemical operation

Additional Qualifications

 

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, data collection and capital equipment analysis.
  • Computer skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required. Knowledge of SAP a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.  Must be able to deal effectively with all site employees, business unit and corporate management, local civic groups and regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change in a manufacturing organization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities may require close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud.
